Advanced Disposal, an integrated environmental services company, is pleased to announce its Sarasota County Landfill Operator, Ryan Davidson, won first place in the SWANA Florida Sunshine Chapter Road-E-O Heavy Equipment Competition. 鈥淭he landfill compactor is the most important piece of equipment at the landfill and efficient operation and safety are the key components to a landfill鈥檚 day-to-day operations and overall lifespan,鈥� said Region Landfill Manager Gerald Allen. 鈥淲e are extremely proud of Ryan and look forward to continued success and achievements from him.鈥�
Employees from Florida municipalities, counties and private haulers were welcomed to participate in the truck or heavy equipment competitions and showcase their skills. The first day of the Road-E-O consisted of a safety class, exam and inspections while the competition and awards banquet took place on the second day. Davidson competed against six others in the compactor competition. He now advances to the National SWANA Road-E-O held in Phoenix, Ariz. on October 3, 2015.
