BCR Environmental (BCR) (), the first and only innovator of wastewater and organic waste treatment technologies to obtain nationwide EPA regulatory approval, today announced the launch of NuTerra Management LLC (NuTerra) at the Water Environment Federation (WEF) Water and Energy 2015 Conference being held June 7-10 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C. NuTerra solutions address capital and operating expense constraints, regulatory compliance, public sentiment and environmental issues (i.e. noise, odor, material handling, physical footprint, greenhouse gas emissions). The company is the only platform with proven financial and risk analysis models specifically designed for biosolids and organics management.

Dr. Jim Smith, Retired Chair of the U.S. EPA鈥檚 PEC, said, 鈥淏CR was for the past decade and continues to be an industry leader in technology innovation. The launch of NuTerra as a project development and services platform with the same thought leadership is a logical progression and much-needed business model for the biosolids and organic waste market. NuTerra understands that a successful project equally balances technology with materials handling and integration.鈥

The company brings a 100 percent project success track record in delivering over 20 sustainable biosolids treatment and handling facilities for municipalities that have delivered an average reduction in operating costs of more than 40 percent and in energy consumption by more than 90 percent. A dramatic reduction in facility size requirements makes the company鈥檚 platform the most cost-effective for addressing population growth, urban encroachment, and failing infrastructure.

Aaron Zahn, President and CEO of BCR and NuTerra, explained that BCR will now focus exclusively on developing new and improved environmental technologies and that the new company fills the need for complete, successful, and long-term solutions with full accountability to lower costs and risks for municipalities. 鈥淯nlike traditional project companies in our space, NuTerra鈥檚 progressive project design/delivery/service method and specific technology portfolio creates the only platform capable of producing reliable economic and risk analyses and then delivering a project that meets expectations. NuTerra truly excels in providing economically viable solutions to the underserved less-than-15MGD (less-than-15-dry-ton-per-day) market. We will continue to lead the way in organic waste reutilization by recycling nutrients into high-value marketable end products, and providing solutions that address diminishing disposal outlets/landfill capacity, escalating costs, increasing environmental regulations, increasing nutrient pollution issues and rising energy costs.鈥

NuTerra has been recognized for its long-term project and services success by the U.S. EPA, Florida Department of Environmental Protection; the Florida Water Environment Association鈥檚 2013 Biosolids Program Excellence Award; and by the University of Florida鈥檚 Bob Graham Center for Public Service for its corporate leadership and environmental stewardship.
