Mayor Lee Kyriacou has announced that the City of Beacon has begun new collection and recycling program for electronic waste at the city鈥檚 transfer station at 90 Dennings Avenue.聽Open from 7:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, the transfer station will now accept certain e-waste materials at no cost to the public or city taxpayers.
The city has partnered with a recycling company, EWASTE+, to offer this free collection program for a wide range of e-waste items, including computers, mobile phones, monitors, printers, laptops, televisions, keyboards, audio equipment, cables, and storage devices.
The program does not accept household hazardous waste, freon-containing devices, fluorescent bulbs, or other items on the prohibited items list.
