Auglaize County Solid Waste Management District Coordinator Scott Cisco will retire after 11 years in the position. Cisco has played a major role in cleaning up Auglaize County鈥檚 only recycling facility, changing the way materials are collected and accepting more materials.
Cisco entered the workforce right after high school and worked for his father and uncle as a livestock buyer for the family business, Cisco Stock Yard. He then worked for the City of St. Marys for 17 years in the street department before starting at the Solid Waste Management District. His role as District Coordinator includes overseeing all operations at the facility, giving new customers walkthroughs and explaining to them what can be recycled or not.
Cisco said when he started with the Solid Waste Management District, it didn鈥檛 have much equipment. The district started with a couple of trucks and now has three packer trucks, a couple of semi trucks and two roll-off trucks. When Cisco started, a majority of the municipalities had a Saturday drop-off that was all manned.
