Eppley Waste, a locally owned residential waste collection company serving the northern Upstate for nearly 50 years, has promoted Bruce Boykin Aughtry, Jr. to president and partner. In this expanded leadership role, Aughtry will continue to lead operations while also overseeing marketing, sales and customer satisfaction initiatives.
Aughtry joined Eppley Waste in 2017 to oversee business growth and expand the company鈥檚 service range. In addition, he assisted with daily operations and served as a short-term driver to ease the load on his teammates. This afforded Aughtry the chance to fully understand the service areas and identify upcoming building projects to serve, thereby growing the business. Over the past eight years, he has served in multiple roles, shaping the company鈥檚 growth, culture, and reputation for exceptional customer care. Under his leadership, the company has nearly tripled the number of households it serves.
鈥淔rom his very first day here, Boykin has approached every challenge with energy, creativity, and an unwavering focus on our customers,鈥 said Thomas B. Ivester, chief financial officer of Eppley Waste. 鈥淗e has a rare ability to connect with people while driving operational results, and that combination has been a huge factor in our success. I鈥檓 confident his leadership will keep us moving toward our goal of being the premier residential waste provider in the region.鈥
Founded in 1976, Eppley Waste has built its reputation on making waste removal simple, cost-effective, and convenient for the communities it serves. In his new position, Aughtry will help guide the company鈥檚 long-term strategy while maintaining its commitment to reliable service, performance, and strong community relationships. His leadership will be key in positioning Eppley Waste as the preferred provider in a competitive and growing market.
“I have no doubt that Eppley Waste will succeed and continue to grow because we’re fortunate to have a strong foundation that our reliable staff brings to work every day, a solid reputation the Eppley family slowly built over 40 years and exceptional mentors that have taught me everything I know,鈥 Aughtry said. 鈥淎nyone can learn about a company, but to experience firsthand every aspect that a small business faces daily, good and bad, means so much more and should be cherished from the blood, sweat and tears that you put in. This is something I hope everyone has the opportunity to feel at some point in their life.鈥
