The Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) announces Fire Rover as its newest corporate partner, launching a dynamic collaboration to address the growing risks associated with lithium-ion batteries and fire safety in the waste and resource management industry. This strategic partnership will focus on data sharing, education, and joint programming to mitigate fire hazards and improve safety standards across the sector. Fire Rover, a leader in fire detection and suppression technology, will work closely with SWANA鈥檚 Safety Committee and Battery Workgroup to share actionable insights and updates from its extensive fire incident data.
In a unique educational initiative, SWANA will contribute two pages to Fire Rover鈥檚 upcoming children鈥檚 book, 鈥淪upercharged,鈥 which aims to teach young readers about battery safety and fire prevention in an engaging and accessible format.聽SWANA and Fire Rover will collaborate on other educational initiatives, including a dedicated battery education and data collection webpage and articles to raise awareness and promote best practices in fire safety management. Fire Rover will exhibit and participate in SWANA鈥檚 upcoming annual conference, RCon鈩, taking place in Columbus, Ohio, November 12-15, 2025. The partnership also includes joint development of webinars, expanded member engagement opportunities, and memberships for Fire Rover staff.
