The Miami-Dade Department of Solid Waste Management (DSWM) recognizes the dedication, hard work, and professionalism of its truck drivers and recycling contractors鈥 drivers, especially during this year鈥檚 National Truck Driver Appreciation Week from September 15 through September 21, 2024.聽 DSWM management commends the 610 drivers who provide efficient, reliable waste and recycling services to more than 350,000 households in Miami-Dade County.
鈥淥ur truck drivers work hard all year long, and they deserve to be honored during National Truck Driver Appreciation Week and every week,鈥 said Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava.聽 鈥淭hanks to their contributions, these amazing men and women help protect our quality of life and keep our neighborhoods clean, healthy and safe.聽 I ask everyone to join me in showing their appreciation this week and thanking their waste collection and recycling driver, along with all the other drivers who keep our solid waste operations rolling!鈥
According to the National Truck Driver Appreciation Week website, this week-long celebration 鈥渋s an important time for America to thank all the professional truck drivers for their hard work and commitment in undertaking one of our economy’s most demanding and important jobs.鈥澛 The DSWM will honor its truck drivers throughout the week with special posts on its social media accounts on Instagram, Facebook and X (formerly Twitter).

The DSWM provides curbside waste and recycling collection services to more than 350,000 households in unincorporated Miami-Dade County and ten municipalities, including Aventura, Cutler Bay, Doral, Miami Gardens, Miami Lakes, Opa-Locka, Palmetto Bay, Pinecrest, Sunny Isles Beach and Sweetwater.
