The 2025 National Recycling Congress on October 1–3, 2025 in Wichita, Kansas, is hosted by the National Recycling Coalition (NRC) in partnership with Wichita State University’s Environmental Finance Center. This year’s theme, “Strategies for Circularity,” will highlight innovative approaches to advancing a circular, sustainable economy.
The Congress will bring together leaders from business, government, nonprofit, and academic sectors to exchange ideas, share resources, and collaborate on real-world solutions. The National Recycling Congress has been hosted by the NRC since 1980, bringing together recycling professionals, policymakers, businesses, educators, and community leaders from across the country. The Congress serves as the premier national forum for advancing recycling and sustainable materials management, offering cutting-edge presentations, interactive workshops, and opportunities to share best practices. It is a space for collaboration, innovation, and action—where the recycling community comes together to shape policy, strengthen networks, and chart the future of recycling in the United States.
The National Recycling Coalition (NRC) is the oldest non-profit recycling advocacy organization in the U.S., founded in 1978. Its leaders, members, and affiliates include practitioners from across the country, representing decades of expertise in materials recovery and sustainable materials management. The NRC is a member-based organization connected to more than 12,000 individuals, including state recycling organization members, nonprofits, and allies—united as a platform to provide a deliberate, coordinated, and concerted national voice for recycling, with a guiding principle of “Together we are recycling.”
