Join Zabble for an in-depth discussion with the City of San José as they share the results of their 2024 Contamination and Recycling Tagging (CART) program. With over 66,000 households reached and a statistically significant drop in recycling contamination, San José’s pilot initiatives demonstrate the power of combined education, outreach, and technology.

The City leveraged Zabble’s AI-driven bin inspection platform to collect data and track contamination. Data from Zabble was later used in conjunction with results from a third-party waste characterization study to assess the impact of tactics like in-mold cart lids, larger garbage carts, and direct feedback provided via cart tags. In this session, city representatives from Integrated Waste Management Division, Yamini Sadasivam – Supervising Environmental Services Specialist and Mathew Dorfman – Environmental Services Specialist, will walk through their findings, share what worked (and what didn’t), and offer practical guidance for jurisdictions facing similar challenges. You’ll also hear about Zabble from Customer Success Manager, Derek, and how their AI tools streamlined data collection and insight generation, supporting one of the most ambitious contamination reduction efforts in California. Marshalle Graham from CalRecycle will provide opening remarks to kick-off this exciting webinar.
