For the first time in nearly three years, Limestone County will soon have a recycling facility. The old site shut down after the property was sold, but now, thanks to a $600,000 grant, the county is building a new recycling center from the ground up.
It will give residents a central location to drop off cardboard and plastic, which will be processed using equipment salvaged from the previous site.
鈥淲e鈥檙e probably [going to] spend another $200,000 or so. We鈥檝e already got the equipment from the other building. When they took it down, we were able to obtain the balers from the other building,鈥� Limestone County Commission Chairman Collin Daly said.
