For the first time in nearly three years, Limestone County will soon have a recycling facility. The old site shut down after the property was sold, but now, thanks to a $600,000 grant, the county is building a new recycling center from the ground up.
It will give residents a central location to drop off cardboard and plastic, which will be processed using equipment salvaged from the previous site.
鈥淲e鈥檙e probably [going to] spend another $200,000 or so. We鈥檝e already got the equipment from the other building. When they took it down, we were able to obtain the balers from the other building,鈥 Limestone County Commission Chairman Collin Daly said.
