Iron Bull Drop Bottom Hoppers feature doors on the bottom, allowing operators to empty them via remote control to greatly enhance safety. With capacities to 30,000 pounds, they are ideal for extreme, heavy duty scrap handling. When equipped with hydraulically operated doors and crane lift eyes, operators can empty them remotely with controlled dumping for improved safety. Iron Bull Extreme Drop Bottom Hoppers are ideal for a wide range of scrap and waste handling applications, especially those in steel mills, machine shops, fabrication facilities, and more. The unique rectangular, space saving design allows these hard-working hoppers to make productive use of more floorspace. For example, a standard 1 cubic yard capacity hopper requires 25 square feet of floor space due to the angled side (to allow dumping), while a 1-cubic yard drop bottom hopper fits into just 11.5 square feet of floor space. Iron Bull Drop Bottom Hoppers can be made with widths as narrow as 20-inches, ideal for long, narrow materials. Every model allows an operator to safely empty the hopper—either with the Dump-from-Seatâ„¢ or the optional remote control (for hydraulically controlled doors). Iron Bull representatives are available to assist in sizing and selection as required. For example, for heavier wood and medium metal scrap, a standard 2,000-pound capacity hopper with a single drop door or double drop doors may suffice, but for more capacity, heavy duty hoppers will be required.
