On October 1, 2025, Nez Perce County will begin disposing of its solid waste directly to the Asotin County Regional Landfill. This only applies to customers of unincorporated Nez Perce County. The City of Lewiston residents are not affected by this change. Curbside and bulky waste customers served by Inland North Waste and Sunshine Disposal Inc. will see no change in their services.

Residents of unincorporated Nez Perce County who direct haul to the City of Lewiston Transfer Station will be required to haul to the Asotin County Regional Landfill starting on October 1, 2025. These direct haul customers must come to the Nez Perce County Commissioners鈥 Office on the third floor of the new Nez Perce County Court House at 1230 Main Street in Lewiston, to receive a 鈥渄irect haul鈥 permit to haul directly to the Asotin Landfill and have their loads charged to Nez Perce County.

Direct haul customers will receive a permit to hang from their vehicle鈥檚 rearview mirror when dumping at Asotin. When the attendant sees this permit, the load will be charged to Nez Perce County. This change will ultimately save Nez Perce County residents money on their solid waste bills.
