Rumpke has received the permit to begin construction of a waste transfer station in Clark County. The Ohio EPA issued a permit-to-install to Rumpke Waste Inc. for the construction of a municipal solid waste transfer station.

Ohio law regulates design and location standards for these stations. The Ohio EPA says Rumpke鈥檚 plans exceeds the minimum distances to homes and surface water, and waste will be handled in an enclosed building outside of the regulatory flood plain.

The EPA says any wastewater from this station will be handled through the sanitary sewer to the Clark County Southwest Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant. Stormwater runoff will be managed through a National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System permit to ensure best practices. Before opening, Rumpke must also obtain an annual operating license from the Clark County Combined Health District.
