The 2025 DIVERT Ohio Conference (formerly the Partners Conference), a collaborative event hosted by the Association of Ohio Recyclers (AOR), the Ohio Association of Litter Prevention and Recycling Professionals (OALPRP), and Keep Ohio Beautiful (KOB), will be held September 16–18, 2025 at the Sawmill Creek Resorts in Huron, Ohio.

This year’s event embraces a new identity and mission under the name DIVERT — which stands for Dispose, Innovate, Value, Engage, Recycle, and Teach — and will feature the powerful theme: “From Ripples to Waves: Cleaning Up Waste Streams for a Stronger Economy.” The newly named DIVERT Ohio Conference builds on the strong foundation of the former Partners Conference while expanding its vision to inspire transformative approaches to waste management. The event will focus on the critical link between environmental sustainability and economic growth, urging participants to rethink waste as a resource for innovation and opportunity.

“This year’s conference marks a bold new chapter as we introduce DIVERT — a name that reflects our mission to Dispose Responsibly, Innovate to Reduce Waste, Value Resources, Engage in Reuse, Recycle Properly, and Teach Others,” said Kristen Rinehart, Keep Ohio Beautiful Board Director. “With the theme ‘From Ripples to Waves: Cleaning Up Waste Streams for a Stronger Economy,’ we’re challenging participants to see waste not as a burden, but as a powerful driver of innovation and economic opportunity. By expanding the vision of the former Partners Conference, DIVERT Ohio will spotlight sustainable solutions that create lasting impact for our environment, our communities, and our economy.”

The conference theme emphasizes the importance of waste practices that are both environmentally responsible and economically beneficial. As industries and communities face increasing pressure to address waste and resource challenges, the conference will highlight forward-thinking strategies and technologies that turn waste into value. By focusing on cleaner, more efficient systems, the 2025 DIVERT Ohio Conference aims to reframe waste management as a catalyst for regeneration and long-term growth.

Over three days, attendees will participate in a variety of workshops, breakout sessions, and collaborative discussions designed to generate real-world impact. Topics will include:

  • Advancements in recycling and diversion technologies
  • Circular economy models for local and regional success
  • Litter prevention and community engagement
  • Economic opportunities tied to waste reduction initiatives

The conference will bring together professionals from across the waste management, recycling, environmental, and policy sectors. Whether representing local governments, private industry, nonprofits, or academic institutions, attendees will gain insights, tools, and connections to make an immediate and lasting impact in their communities and organizations.
