The Waste & Recycling Expo Canada (CWRE) and the Municipal Equipment Expo Canada, the country鈥檚 only trade event serving the waste, recycling and public works markets closed its doors with a broad range of exhibiting global leaders and a host of municipalities in attendance, November 4 鈥 5 at the Palais des Congres, Montreal. 鈥淭he combination of these two events were distinguished by a fantastic exhibitor line-up. Several prominent North American and international companies continue to see the value in this event which is evident in their continued support鈥, reports Arnie Gess, Consultant/Show Manager, Messe Frankfurt Inc. 鈥淭his was complemented by the attendance of all 10 of the Canadian provinces, reaffirming our position as a key platform in the waste 聽management, recycling and public works arena.鈥
The 18th edition was highlighted with innovations from 187 exhibitors from eight countries and entertained more than 2,000 visitors from 33 countries. 聽聽Some focal points of the Waste & Recycling Expo were products in transportation, storage and heavy machinery. Key players represented, e.g., Mack Trucks Canada, London Machinery, Labrie, Machinex, Peterbilt and Environmental Solutions Group. 聽The Municipal Equipment Expo also successfully connected equipment manufacturers and service providers with municipalities and government agencies within the public works markets.
By connecting exhibiting companies with key decision makers across a variety of industry sectors these events continue to solidify the importance of this platform with a strong showing of companies in attendance such as Cascades Recovery Inc., Ville de Montr猫al, Costco Wholesale, Export Quebec, Miller Waste Systems, Aeroport de Montr猫al, Progressive Waste Solutions and Veolia Environmental Services.
Co-locating with CWRE and the Municipal Equipment Expo Canada, the Canadian Waste to Resource Conference (CWRC), produced by the Ontario Waste Management Association (OWMA) returned to Montreal with a diverse group of attendees from across the nation. 聽The program included two full day educational sessions and several networking opportunities including the co-sponsored Opening Gala Reception and the Open Mic dinner. 聽鈥淲e are proud of our success and the support we continue to receive from our sponsors, as we hosted more than thirty-five keynote and industry presenters. 聽Our educational program continues to address the needs of the industry across North America discussing key trends and new, emerging issues鈥, states Michele Goulding, Director, Finance and Member Services, Ontario Waste Management Association and CWRC Conference Manager.
