Ohio based manufacturer RES Polyflow announced today that Ashley Indiana has been selected as the location for its Midwest production facility. 聽Groundbreaking will take place in the second quarter of 2016. 聽Once operational, phase one of the facility will produce on an annual basis 17.0M gallons of ultra-low sulfur diesel and gasoline blendstocks for the petroleum market from the conversion of 100,000 tons of plastic scrap utilizing the company鈥檚 patented process. The project will create 136 full time jobs when completed with phase one generating approximately $90.0MM in capital investment in Steuben County Indiana.

RES Polyflow CEO, Jay Schabel comments, 鈥淭he Ashley site offers many logistical advantages for our suppliers and customers which allows us to expand rapidly to achieve our ten-year growth plan. 聽However, the deciding factor was the responsiveness and support shown by the people of Ashley, Steuben County and the State of Indiana. 聽They are truly partnering with us on the journey of commercializing this unique technology with their sights set on the reward of creating competitive manufacturing jobs while improving the planet for existing and future generations.鈥 State and local support for the project became a critical factor in the decision to build in Ashley. The Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC) offered RES Polyflow LLC up to $900,000 in conditional tax credits and up to $100,000 in training grants based on the company’s job creation plans. These incentives are performance-based, meaning until Hoosiers are hired, the company is not eligible to claim incentives. Likewise, a local economic development package valued at $4.4MM offered by Steuben County and the Town of Ashley complemented the state鈥檚 investment offer. 聽Company officials estimate that a second phase of the project planned for completion by 2021 will double the capacity of the plant.

鈥淪teuben County is happy to work with Indiana and the Town of Ashley to support this project. 聽We believe this is a viable business and look forward to seeing them grow in the community.鈥, stated Ron Smith, President of the Steuben County Board of Commissioners.

Randy McEntarfer, Ashley Town Manager added, 鈥淭he proximity to rail and Interstate 69, the Klink Group, Steuben County and the State of Indiana have all helped to bring this exciting project to Ashley and we are grateful. 聽RES Polyflow is bringing high wage jobs and cutting edge technology to the community.鈥

The Ashley Indiana facility is the first commercial facility featuring the RES Polyflow plastics-to-fuel conversion technology. 聽In addition to converting local plastic waste materials into fuel, the plant will also serve as a central hub for upgrading the production output of other RES Polyflow plants planned for surrounding Midwestern states. Company headquarters will remain in Perry, Ohio.
