Reworld™, a leader in sustainable waste solutions, announced a new three-year partnership with Mystic Aquarium to support sustainable materials management and marine wildlife conservation, including an annual $50,000 contribution toward these efforts. The partnership will fund a year-round educational series that promotes ocean health, climate awareness and local conservation efforts.

The collaboration reflects the ongoing commitment by Reworld™ to support environmental sustainability and deepens its connections with the communities it serves. Reworld™ has operated the SECONN facility in Preston, Connecticut since 1991, which processes 250,000 tons of waste each year, helping Connecticut avoid landfilling while also generating enough electricity to power 11,000 homes annually.

“We are thrilled to partner with Mystic Aquarium, an organization right here in the community we serve that shares our vision for a more sustainable future,” said Tom Koltis, Senior Vice President, Negative Carbon and Infrastructure Development, Reworld™. “Together, we’re creating opportunities to inspire environmental responsibility in young people and families across southeastern Connecticut.”

“We are grateful to Reworld for this partnership that allows us to expand and deepen our mission of protecting our ocean and planet through education, research and conservation,” said Tina Couch, Chief Advancement Officer at Mystic Aquarium. “We look forward to working with Reworld to empower the next generation of ocean stewards.”
