Will Flower, Solid Waste and Recycling Consultant
Will Flower is a distinguished solid waste professional and recycling expert with over 40 years of industry experience. His career began in 1983 at the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency’s Director’s Office, where he contributed to advancing environmental policy and waste management practices. In 1990, Will joined Waste Management, Inc. and worked in the Midwest and in New York City working in some of the most dynamic markets in the country. Will transitioned to Republic Services, Inc., where he served as the Executive Vice President of Communications. In 2013, Will moved to Long Island to join Winters Bros. Waste Systems, where he continued to apply his vast expertise to regional waste and recycling programs. Today, Will provides consulting services to organizations seeking to improve waste management practices, develop recycling programs, and navigate complex environmental regulations.

Eric Frederickson, Vice President, Operations, Call2Recycle
As the Vice President of Operations for Call2Recycle, Eric is responsible for the organization’s supply chain, safety, compliance, and downstream recycling network. This includes optimizing performance and efficiencies while upholding the organization’s commitment to safety standards and compliance obligations. Eric’s day-to-day focus is on helping a variety of stakeholders understand and address the unique safety and environmental challenges associated with lithium-ion batteries. With more than 20 years’ experience in engineering and operations leadership at leading transportation solutions providers, Eric is a practical expert in the areas of lithium-ion battery recycling, transportation, compliance, packaging, and safety.

Jerry Sjogren, Sr. Director of Safety, Recycled Materials Association (ReMA)
Jerry Sjogren is the Senior Director of Safety at the Recycled Materials Association ReMA. He has over 34 years of experience in the environmental, health & safety (EHS) and transportation industries. Prior to joining ISRI, Sjogren was the Safety Director at Westborough, Mass.-based E.L. Harvey & Sons where he managed the development and administration of the company’s safety program and environmental issues, including compliance with all levels of related government regulations. In addition to receiving EHS certifications in Emergency Response & Incident Command, Sjogren has training in employee relations and government compliance subjects. Sjogren has served on local and national professional industry organizations, from the National Waste and Recycling Association (NWRA) to ANSI Z245 Sub-Committees. He is a member of the Westborough Local Emergency Planning Committee, and former chair of the ISRI Safety & Environmental Council (ISEC).

Bridgett Biggs is a seasoned safety professional with over 16 years of experience at Rumpke Waste & Recycling. Throughout her career, she has played a pivotal role in shaping and leading safety initiatives across the company’s operations, with a strong focus on driver safety, regulatory compliance, and building a culture of accountability. Bridgett has been instrumental in developing and implementing company-wide safety policies and training programs, including progressive driver training frameworks, Lockout/Tagout accountability, and leading-indicator-driven safety strategies. She works closely with operations leadership, HR, engineering, and legal teams to ensure alignment, consistency, and compliance across multiple regions. Lisa May, Corporate Safety Training and Compliance Manager,ÌýRumpke Waste & Recycling
With more than 15 years of industry experience, Lisa is an accomplished safety and compliance leader specializing in training program design, regulatory oversight, and culture transformation. Lisa currently serves as Corporate Safety Training & Compliance Manager at Rumpke, where she oversees company-wide training initiatives, driver and trainer development programs, and compliance with OSHA, DOT, and other regulatory requirements. In this role, she partners with the Safety Compliance Manager that leads a team to align training initiatives with compliance standards. A NASP Certified Safety Manager (CSM), OSHA Authorized General Industry Trainer, and Smith System Instructor, Lisa has extensive experience designing and delivering new hire, monthly in-service, and incident-driven training, as well as conducting Safety Excellence Reviews and trainer audits. In addition to technical safety and compliance expertise, Lisa is a proven leader in training program development,Ìýregulatory oversight,Ìý²¹²Ô»åÌýcontinuous improvement initiatives.ÌýBy fostering collaboration across all lines of businesses she has successfully implemented campaigns and corrective action programs that reduce incidents, mitigate risk, and reinforce a culture of accountability and safety excellence. Kristyn Oldendorf, Senior Director of Public Policy & Communications, Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA)
Kristyn Oldendorf is Senior Director of Public Policy and Communications for the Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA), leading advocacy, public affairs, and safety initiatives for the organization. Kristyn spearheads the SWANA Core Advocacy Group, the Safety Ambassadors, and the Lithium-Ion Battery Workgroup, among other projects.Prior to joining SWANA, Kristyn worked in international waste and resource recovery consulting, supporting major brands with establishing and pursuing their waste reduction and diversion goals. In addition, Kristyn spent over ten years working for the City of Baltimore, first in policy and legislation and later in supporting operations and leading the Office of Waste Diversion. Kristyn’s work in the waste and resource management sector began with setting up community recycling programs in rural Honduras during her service as a Peace Corps Volunteer. Kristyn received a bachelor’s degree in international studies from American University and a Master of Public Policy degree from the University of Maryland Baltimore County.
