York County announced that curbside recycling services will resume in the county in January. According to the county, it has issued a Notice of Intent to Award for Curbside Trash and Recycling Services to BFI Waste Management Services LLC, doing business as Republic Services of Yorktown. Republic Services has provided curbside trash collection in York County for nearly 30 years.

The county said Republic Services was selected following a competitive procurement process and thorough review of proposals to continue as its trash collection provider and to begin curbside recycling services starting in January. The York County Board of Supervisors is expected to formally approve the contract at its Nov. 18 meeting.
